Pulse readings come from an included rechargeable forearm monitor. That mount sits just beyond the bike's control panel, which comes to life as soon as you start pedaling and displays six key metrics: time, calories, speed, distance, resistance level and pulse. The included tablet mount puts the screen at a very shallow angle and can't be adjusted, which isn't my favorite thing ever. My handlebar post wobbled just a bit, even after being fully tightened, but was resolved shortly after with a set of aftermarket stabilizers. The pedals have toe cages, but can also be used with clip-in cycling shoes. The C6 spin bike looks a little skinnier, and therefore less substantial, than bikes costing more, but it feels mostly sturdy while you're riding and makes virtually no noise. For something that's half the cost of a Peloton, that minor annoyance passes quickly. The only thing I really found missing was details on Bluetooth connection to my iPad, which allowed me to use a ton of different apps for indoor cycling. The included assembly manual provides very little actual instruction, but I was still able to assemble the bike in about 45 minutes. Add to that one of the lowest prices of any "connected" bike and you've got a serious contender. The Bowflex C6 is currently my favorite exception to this - it can pair via Bluetooth with a variety of different exercise apps, including Peloton's. Most indoor bike platforms now ask you to pay at least some monthly fee for software. There are plenty of indoor bike options, which range from charging you only a monthly fee, with no upfront cost for the bike itself, to no monthly fee at all and only a hardware cost. With people cutting back on costs in today's economic climate, a monthly bike subscription may be considered unnecessary. There's also a staggering $44 a month for Peloton workout classes and access to the Peloton app for when you're not at home. Most people looking at a Peloton don't know you aren't just paying $1,445 for a Peloton Bike or $1,595 for a Bike Plus. So if you want an alternative to the Peloton experience, know you've got some options that are pretty great. You can't talk about indoor bikes without mentioning Peloton, and while there's no denying its bikes are high quality (at least before the massive recall that was just announced) is it really worth it to join the club? While Peloton quickly became a household name, there's no shortage of competing bikes out there looking to either meet or beat the newcomer on prices and features.

Voice performance is a key part of the enjoyment and players often have a hard time deciding if they should pick Japanese or English dub for their first playthrough. in fact, you can easily multiply your speed of ripping multiple dvd's by using a computer with multiple dvd drives and simultaneously creating several images at the same time. of the 2 options, this is by far the easiest method. this works with 100% of all readable dvd and blu-ray media (dvd and/or blu-ray drive required respectively). if you're on a mac you can use disk utility to create a disk image of the disc, if you're on linux, you can use the dd command (or any graphical versions thereof) to create a disk image, or if you're on windows, you can use magic iso which is free, or any one of the large number of good disk image software that is available. you can accomplish this by a variety of means. if you're using a computer to play these back, for complete and total 100% same-as-on-the-dvd quality, the best thing to do would be to rip the dvd's to ISO format and mount the disks as a cd-rom drive when you wish to play them. once you've got your storage set up (hard drives are ridiculously cheap now so at this point i might even recommend installing another sata controller, using a larger case, and doubling the number of hard drives and doubling the amount of ram installed in the system to allow zfs to do awesome things like removing duplicate files, and checking file integrity (checksums))once you've got your BIGASS file server set up and running smoothly, you can then start ripping your dvd's. the easiest way to accomplish this is outlined here: and involves installing a very easy to use server OS known as freenas (more info found at ). they both require some serious storage though so first I would recommend building yourself a file server. To power up them, you need gold coins in different amounts. So, as mentioned in the Vampire Survivors guide, you need to power up the attributes given in the game. Vampire Survivors Guide for Power-Up AttributesĪttributes are the next thing that should be powered up because when you power up the attributes in the power-up collection, your character becomes so firm that your character will never fail in front of an enemy. Then, after gathering enough gold, you can unlock the Vampire Survivors best characters for your gameplay. Since you have zero gold coins at the beginning of the game, you must start with Antonio Belpaese. Here are the characters, their skills, and the requirements to make them available for your gameplay. Gennaro's main ability is a permanent extra projectile for all weapons. Gennaro Belpaese - this is the last character available here, and the unlocking requirement is five hundred gold. And the skill Pasqualina has is the projectiles getting faster every five levels. Pasqualina Belpaese - you need hundred gold coins to unlock this character to use in the gameplay. Imelda has the skills to gain 10% extra experience for every five levels. Imelda Belpaese - this is the next character available here, and you need ten gold coins to unlock this one. So, are you ready to learn about character collection to select the best characters from this Vampire Survivors guide ?Īntonio Belpaese - this is the only character available for you to play freely and the primary skill of this character is it gains 10% more damage every ten levels. You can select characters when you tap on the Start option to enter the game, and it is essential to learn about Vampire Survivors all characters to choose the best ones to enter the game. So, if you love playing Vampire Survivors on PC and eliminating more vampires at once, enhancing the character skills to shine in battles, you must first go through this guide. With this Vampire Survivors guide, you will achieve victory while surviving much longer on the battleground while leveling up your character for higher levels. Vampire Survivors Guide for Power-Up Attributes. (On Windows you'd use one of those RAWRITE-style progams.) This is how I got the Quadra to boot the first time.Ģ: Annoyingly, I seem to recall having to make my own "Disk Tools" floppy by deleting stuff off the the Network Access and copying "Drive Setup" to it to format my hard disk. (My host OS was Linux so using Windows Stuffit wasn't an option.) Once extracted I wrote the image to a real floppy using "dd". It was painfully convoluted.ġ: I used a working installation of the BasiliskII mac Emulator to unpack the Network Access disk image. So, here's what I remember about making this go on my Quadra. Yeah, I didn't realize that System 6 didn't have the PC Exchange control panel. Do I format 3.5 disks on my PC and ad the files to 3.5 floppies and then put those in the Mac Classic or do I have to transfer the files another way?Ī Mac Classic running System 6 (or indeed, any Mac running System 6) won't be able to read the PC format. Thanks for the reply! Ok so I got the 19 files for the System 7.5.3 on my PC but what do I do? They are. The *specifics* of how I did this with a Quadra probably wouldn't be particularly helpful because I used a Linux box with a SCSI controller to skip some of the really annoying steps. This link also might be slightly helpful, although, again, it's not well organized.Īgain, someone can probably help you more then I can. (The reason I think you need the boot disk is I *don't* believe you can run the self-extracting installer for system 7.5 (the 19 piece one) from anything prior to 7.) Otherwise, there's lousy instructions HERE for making a Mac boot disk on a PC. If you can find old copies of Stuffit Explorer and Disk Copy that work under system six might be able to do this on your Classic. (Someone more classic-mac oriented then me can tell you the best way to do this. Then you can download the System 7.5 Network Access Disk and image it to a real floppy. You can download that in a bunch of floppy-disk size pieces here. The simplest thing is probably putting System 7.5.3 on it. Once you're certain the Mac has a working hard disk if your PC has a floppy drive you can use use that to spoonfeed-over a system 7 upgrade. If you don't, well, you're obviously not going to get too far. make sure you actually *have* a working hard disk in the system. I'm concerned that your system may actually be booting from that, not the hard disk. The reason I ask is that the Mac Classic has a built-in System. That said, I had a similar problem getting an OS onto a bare Quadra and solved it, so.įirst off, it should probably be clarified, what OS does your Classic have on it again? There's no such thing as Mac OS "6.8.1". It's been a *long* time, so you'd probably be better served by someone with a fresher memory. In that case, you would notice that the wheel is spinning a bit faster, and in almost the same way is how the Pulse Width Modulation works. You can also speed up the interval when you are pushing the wheel let’s say you nudge it every 3 seconds. You can push the wheel every 5 seconds with the same amount of force, and you will keep the wheel spinning. Imagine it the same way as if you were to turn the wheel with your hand. So, the motor is being fed impulses of power. To have a better understanding how this works, take a look at the chart bellow. The PWM system that is used for controlling fans and pumps works with the motor, either getting +12V (full power) or 0V (no power). In short, PWM operates like a switch which constantly cycles on and off, thereby regulating the amount of power the fan or pump motor gains. Some of you probably already know the principle on which pulse width modulation (PWM) works, but nevertheless, we will explain how it actually controls the speed of a fan or a pump. If you’ve followed our recent blog article on MOSFETs and VRMs, you know what we are talking about. Interesting for us enthusiasts is the application of PWM in voltage regulation. It has a broad range of application, like in the field of telecommunications, audio equipment, servo motors, etc. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) or modulation with the width of an impulse, is a widespread term in the world of electrical engineering. The third type of fans that use four wires are PWM fans and that is what will be discussed in this article, along with PWM pumps. A signal is sent via this third wire with a certain frequency that is proportional to the fan speed, expressed in RPM (revolutions per minute). The second type has three wires two for powering the fan and one that carries the so-called “Tach” or tachometric signal (in English: the wire that gives a readout of the current fan speed). Fans with only two wires have only plus and minus (ground) connections and that’s it. Therefore, we will explain what PWM actually is, how it controls the speed of fans and pumps, and we will also show you an example of a PWM profile in one of the software provided by the motherboard manufacturers.īy the number of wires – pins that a fan has – we can distinguish three main types of connections. And worse, there are serious companies out there that make advanced and well-designed fans with old-fashioned 3-pin connectors. However, even today, many years after the introduction of PWM in 2003, there are users that are still not familiar with its advantages. High-end motherboards offer 4-6 or even more of these 4-pin fan/pump connectors, and the PWM system is a very effective and smart way to control the fans. Every mainstream motherboard that leaves the factory today is equipped with at least one 4-pin PWM header. It was followed by the use of ordinary resistors to slow the fans down, fans equipped with thermal resistors, various potentiometers for a wide range manual speed control, etc.īut nowadays, if you want to control the speed of your fans and pumps, PWM control is the way to go. If you are to stumble upon an abbreviation that you don’t understand, take a peek at our “ Liquid cooling glossary” page and you just might find the correct answer!Ĥ-pin PWM header can automatically control the speed of your fans and pumps.Įarly homemade fan controllers used a simple “volt mod” by choosing 5, 7 or 12V from a classic molex connector. TDP stands for “Thermal Design Power” and it is the maximum amount of heat generated by the processor. From that time and up until now, the computer power consumption and thermal dissipation have grown exponentially, as well as their performance.įrom the very first Pentium processors that were declared at 7W TDP, and all the way down to the modern day AMD FX 9590 processor that is rated at 220W, the cooling also had its own evolutionary path. The early x86 computers did not have active cooling because not much heat was generated, right until the introduction of the first 486 models. The option of controlling the fan speed and the satisfaction of silent computing were not always present when it comes to personal computers. Auguste Dupin (whose name Bale’s Augustus Landor partially evokes). With Poe playing the sidekick and Landor the enigmatic detective, the men form one of the core coordinates of modern detective fiction, which can be dated back to Poe’s groundbreaking 1840s trilogy of detective stories featuring his Sherlock Holmes prototype C. Standing on Poe’s shouldersīoth men are drawn together by a liking for drink and books as well the process Poe called “ratiocination” – a combination of scientific reasoning and intuition. Harry Melling – known to viewers as Dudley Dursey of the Harry Potter franchise – is uncannily brilliant as Poe, as if the iconic brooding photographs of the author have been brought to life. It can be seen, too, in cinematographer Masanobu Takayanagi’s evocative palette, where the pale blue cloaks of the West Point cadets contrast with the monochrome winter setting.Ī drawn, bearded Bale is menacing as Landor, the bereaved detective called in to make sense of the case. The specific image of a pale blue eye is evoked by the seductive Lea Marquis’s (Lucy Boynton) eyes and the “piercing look” of detective Augustus Landor (Christian Bale). Bringing Poe to lifeįor the most part Netflix’s film sticks carefully to this brief. Crime serie based on the internationally best-selling novels by Jean-Luc Bannalec. The Pale Blue Eye’s themes indeed crop up repeatedly in Poe’s work: occult ritual and cryptograms, the border between sanity and insanity, the image of the beautiful dead woman – which Poe notoriously described as “the most poetical topic in the world”. Poe’s dishonourable time at West Point could lend itself to a more conventional biopic, but this would have missed what writer and director Scott Cooper is really interested in: “the themes that ultimately influence this young unformed writer to become the writer that he became”. Unwilling to continue his military career, he made sure he was court-martialed by neglecting his duty and disobeying orders then ensured dismissal was the only outcome by pleading not guilty. Over that same 50 years, centrefire accuracy has improved in leaps and bounds - 20 years ago a sub 1 moa rifle was something talked about in hushed tones, now it's pretty run of the mill. 50 years later, nothing much has changed - the targets at 100 yards are still the same, rifles are better but 100's are still fairly rare. In the 1960's I was shooting NSRA prone competitions with a BSA International and Tenex ammunition, on the 100 yard targets, scores in the mid to high 90's were quite usual but 100's were quite rare. 22lr has been around for 150 years, the Captain of the Cutty Sark and Abraham Lincoln would both have been quite familiar with it, it's scarcely changed at all. A silent lead HP 69grain bullet at 1050 and 170ftlbs with sub 1moa accuracy at 100 yards sounds good to me, especially if you already have the rifle. Why can't we develop a load that performs better than the humble. 22lr sub is excellent at the job it's designed for, small game at 40-80 yards, and yes, I know it can be taken further but accuracy is, at best, fairly mediocre once you get round the 100yard mark. 22lr subsonic at 1050 gives 97ftlbs - a 69grain bullet at 1050 is not far off double at about 170ftlbs.
